About Us

Swadesh Exports

Swadesh Exports was created with a simple purpose: to make the discovery and coordination of Indian products more organised, transparent, practical and buyer-friendly for international businesses.

India has an extraordinary depth of manufacturing capability, traditional craftsmanship, materials, techniques and regional design traditions. From handcrafted home décor and textiles to lifestyle products, giftware and contemporary interpretations of traditional Indian crafts, the range of possibilities is extensive.

Yet discovering the right products is only one part of international sourcing.

For an importer, wholesaler, distributor, retailer, e-commerce brand, designer, hospitality business or corporate gifting company, the real challenge often begins after finding a promising product. Product specifications need to be understood. Quantities and commercial requirements need to be discussed. Customisation may be required. Packaging and labelling must be considered. Samples may need to be reviewed and approved. Quality expectations have to be communicated clearly. Shipment and documentation requirements must be coordinated.

Swadesh Exports exists to help bring these moving parts together.

Our role is to create a more structured connection between Indian product capability and global buyer requirements, helping buyers move from product discovery to meaningful commercial conversations and, where appropriate, from initial enquiries to repeatable orders.

Who We Are

Swadesh Exports is a buyer-focused export marketing, sourcing and trade-coordination initiative working to make Indian product discovery easier for international buyers.

We work with businesses looking for relevant Indian products across categories such as:

  • Indian handicrafts
  • Home décor and furnishings
  • Textiles and textile-based products
  • Giftware and corporate gifting
  • Lifestyle products
  • Traditional and contemporary craft products
  • Designer and curated collections
  • Private-label and customised products
  • Products suitable for retail and e-commerce collections

Our approach begins with understanding the buyer.

Rather than simply presenting a large catalogue and expecting the buyer to identify what may work, we aim to understand the intended market, product category, design direction, target customer, quantity requirements, commercial expectations, packaging needs and other relevant specifications.

We then work to identify and coordinate products that are relevant to those requirements.

This approach allows us to focus on curation over volume, clarity over assumptions and practical coordination over unnecessary complexity.

Our Purpose

International sourcing should not have to feel fragmented.

A buyer may find an attractive Indian product but still need answers to important questions:

What are the available sizes and materials?

Can the product be customised?

What is the minimum order quantity?

Can colours, finishes or dimensions be adapted?

What packaging options are available?

Can private labelling be supported?

What information is required for a sample?

How will quality expectations be communicated?

What are the applicable shipment and documentation requirements?

Who coordinates the next step?

These questions can become obstacles when information is scattered or communication is inconsistent.

Swadesh Exports aims to reduce this friction by bringing relevant information, buyer requirements and commercial coordination into a more organised process.

We believe that good sourcing begins with listening, understanding and documenting requirements before presenting solutions.

Connecting Indian Craft and Manufacturing with Global Markets

India's product ecosystem is diverse.

Different regions have developed distinctive materials, techniques, forms, finishes and craft traditions over generations. Alongside traditional craftsmanship, Indian manufacturers and suppliers also serve contemporary markets with products designed for modern retail, hospitality, gifting, interior and lifestyle applications.

This combination creates significant opportunities for international buyers.

However, the breadth of Indian supply can also make discovery difficult. A buyer may encounter thousands of products without knowing which ones are appropriate for their market, positioning or customer base.

Swadesh Exports seeks to make that discovery more focused.

We help buyers explore relevant product possibilities while taking into account their actual requirements rather than treating every buyer as if they were looking for the same collection.

Our objective is not simply to show what India can produce.

Our objective is to help identify what may be commercially relevant to a particular buyer.

A Buyer-First Approach

Every market is different.

A product that works well for one retailer may not suit another. A hospitality buyer may prioritise durability and consistency, while a designer may focus more heavily on material, finish and aesthetics. An e-commerce brand may need specific packaging and labelling, while a corporate gifting business may require customisation and presentation solutions.

That is why our process begins with questions.

We seek to understand:

  • Who the buyer is and what market they serve
  • What type of customer they are targeting
  • Which product categories they are interested in
  • Required materials, dimensions, colours or finishes
  • Expected order quantities
  • Customisation or private-label requirements
  • Packaging and labelling expectations
  • Sample requirements
  • Quality and inspection expectations
  • Timelines and commercial considerations
  • Other requirements relevant to the transaction

The better the requirement is understood, the more useful the product discovery process becomes.

What We Offer

Curated Indian Product Collections

We offer curated access to Indian handicrafts, textiles, home décor, giftware and lifestyle products.

Our focus is on relevance rather than overwhelming buyers with an unnecessarily broad assortment. We aim to present products that can be meaningfully evaluated against the buyer's market and requirements.

HeartfulCraft® Signature Collection

Swadesh Exports also presents the HeartfulCraft® signature collection, representing applicable products associated with the HeartfulCraft brand and its manufacturing and export capabilities.

The collection may include products developed around Indian craftsmanship, materials, design sensibilities and lifestyle applications.

Where relevant, buyers can explore these products as part of a broader sourcing conversation or as a focused collection.

Buyer-Specific Assortment Development

Sometimes the right collection does not already exist in a ready-made form.

A buyer may have a specific market concept, seasonal requirement, colour direction, product mix or customer profile.

In such situations, we can support buyer-specific assortment discussions and coordinated collection development, subject to feasibility and applicable commercial arrangements.

Samples and Sample Approval

Samples can be an important part of international sourcing.

They allow buyers to assess a product before moving forward with larger commercial commitments.

We support paid sample and sample-approval coordination, helping communicate the requirements involved in sample development, review and approval.

Where changes are requested, those requirements can be documented and communicated for consideration.

Customisation and Private Label

Many international buyers require products to be adapted to their own market or brand.

Depending on product feasibility and applicable arrangements, we can support discussions relating to:

  • Product dimensions
  • Materials
  • Colours
  • Finishes
  • Design adaptations
  • Branding
  • Private labels
  • Packaging
  • Product presentation

Customisation is considered on a product-by-product basis because feasibility, minimum quantities, development requirements and commercial conditions can vary.

Packaging, Labelling and Presentation

Product presentation is an important part of international trade.

Packaging may need to protect products during transportation while also meeting the buyer's retail, gifting or brand requirements.

We can coordinate discussions around applicable packaging, labelling and presentation requirements so that expectations are communicated before the order progresses.

Quality-Check Planning

Quality expectations should be discussed before production and shipment rather than after an issue occurs.

Swadesh Exports can support the planning and communication of applicable quality-check requirements, including the identification of key product characteristics that should be reviewed.

Specific inspection responsibilities, standards and procedures depend on the applicable transaction and agreed documentation.

Export Documentation and Logistics Coordination

International trade involves more than product selection.

Depending on the transaction structure, applicable export documentation, shipment information, packaging details and logistics coordination may need to be addressed.

Where authorised and applicable, Swadesh Exports can help coordinate communication around these elements and connect the relevant parties so that requirements are understood and addressed appropriately.

Manufacturing and Export Relationship

Transparency is important to us.

HeartfulCraft LLC is the manufacturer and exporter of record for applicable products.

Swadesh Exports performs only the marketing, promotion, sourcing, coordination or selling activities that are specifically authorised under the applicable Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The respective responsibilities of Swadesh Exports and HeartfulCraft LLC—including matters relating to manufacturing, invoicing, receipt of payment and export documentation—are determined by the MOU and the applicable transaction documents.

This structure allows us to communicate clearly with buyers while maintaining appropriate separation of responsibilities.

For each applicable transaction, the relevant commercial documents and arrangements should be relied upon to establish the specific responsibilities of the parties.

We believe that clarity about roles is an important part of building confidence in international business relationships.

How We Work

1. Listen Before Presenting

We do not believe that sourcing starts with sending a catalogue.

It starts with understanding the requirement.

We listen to the buyer's market, product needs, commercial expectations and practical constraints before identifying relevant possibilities.

2. Curate Rather Than Overwhelm

More products do not necessarily mean better sourcing.

A buyer should be able to understand why a product is being presented and how it may fit the requirement.

Our objective is therefore to curate relevant options instead of simply presenting an overwhelming number of products.

3. Document Critical Requirements

International orders can involve many details.

Specifications, quantities, colours, materials, packaging, labelling, customisation, samples, approvals and other critical requirements should be documented as clearly as possible.

Written requirements help reduce misunderstandings and provide a practical reference for subsequent coordination.

4. Communicate Limitations Early

Not every request is feasible.

Some products may have minimum quantities. Certain customisations may not be practical. Materials or finishes may have limitations. Timelines may depend on production requirements.

We believe it is better to communicate such limitations early than to create unrealistic expectations.

5. Build First Orders into Repeatable Programmes

A successful first order can be the beginning of a long-term relationship.

Once a product, specification and process have been successfully established, future orders can become more structured and predictable.

Our aim is to help buyers move beyond one-time product discovery toward repeatable sourcing programmes and long-term commercial relationships, where appropriate.

Corporate Gifting Businesses

From Product Discovery to Commercial Coordination

Our work does not end when a buyer identifies a product they like.

The real value often comes from what happens next.

A product needs to be evaluated against the buyer's requirements. Specifications may need to be confirmed. Samples may need to be developed and approved. Packaging may need to be discussed. Quality expectations may need to be communicated. Commercial and shipment elements may need to be coordinated.

We aim to help organise these conversations.

This does not mean that every transaction follows the same process. Requirements vary by product, buyer, market, quantity and transaction structure.

Instead, we provide a framework for clearer communication and more accountable next steps.

Our Commitment to Better Communication

International business depends heavily on communication.

A delayed response, incomplete specification or unclear assumption can create unnecessary problems.

Our approach is therefore based on practical communication:

Understand the requirement.
Write down the important details.
Clarify what is possible.
Identify what needs approval.
Communicate limitations.
Coordinate the next step.

We believe this simple discipline can make a meaningful difference to the sourcing experience.

Why Swadesh Exports

Indian Product Access with Structured Coordination

We combine product discovery with a coordination-oriented approach designed around buyer requirements.

Curated Rather Than Generic

We focus on finding relevant products instead of presenting an undifferentiated catalogue.

Buyer Requirements at the Centre

The buyer's market, customer and commercial needs help shape the sourcing conversation.

Practical Support Beyond Discovery

From samples and customisation to packaging, quality communication and applicable export coordination, we aim to support the process beyond the initial product search.

Clear Roles and Responsibilities

Our relationship with HeartfulCraft LLC and the applicable transaction structure are documented so that responsibilities can be understood clearly.

Focus on Long-Term Relationships

We value the possibility of developing successful first orders into repeatable and sustainable business relationships.

Our Vision

We envision a sourcing environment where international buyers can explore Indian products with greater clarity and confidence.

A place where discovering a product does not mean navigating an unnecessarily complicated process.

A place where buyer requirements are understood before recommendations are made.

A place where product specifications are documented, questions are addressed, limitations are communicated and the next step is clear.

And a place where the richness of Indian craftsmanship and manufacturing can connect more effectively with the needs of global markets.

Swadesh Exports aims to be that bridge.

Our Philosophy

We believe that successful international trade is built on more than products.

It is built on understanding, communication, reliability, transparency and follow-through.

Our philosophy can be expressed simply:

Listen before presenting.
Curate rather than overwhelm.
Document critical requirements and approvals.
Communicate limitations early.
Coordinate responsibly.
Build successful first orders into repeatable programmes.

These principles guide how we approach every sourcing conversation.
